Bun B and Boi-1da react to Sauce Walka after Drake Houston comments

Sauce Walka caused an uproar online when he accused Drake of not giving back to Houston and not collaborating with her artists. Bun B defended himself and Boi-1da came to the 37-year-old rapper’s defense.

Walka admitted that the Toronto superstar has worked with the UGK legend, but claimed that, contrary to popular belief, Bun is not actually from Houston. “Nothing against Bun B, (but) he’s from Port Arthur, not Houston,” he said. “We’re talking Houston, Texas.”

The owner of Trill Burgers responded via Instagram, writing, “Born in Houston. Northwood Manor. Moved to West Side PA in 6th grade. Not taken yet.” Bun had previously referred to Drake as one of them, so it shouldn’t surprise anyone that he said anything.

Boi-1da, on the other hand, was more reserved about it in honor of Drake. Akademiks shared Sauce Walka’s comments on Instagram and one fan chimed in. “Travis, Bun B, Pimp C, OG Ron C, DJ Screw, multiple Houston producers, etc… the sense of entitlement is insane though,” they wrote, listing the people the six Gods have worked with in the past. “Selective memory (laughing emoji),” the Grammy-winning producer added.

Sauce made his first comments during an interview with The Breakfast Cluband accused the “It’s Up” artist of not investing in Houston artists like he has in other major cities. “Why doesn’t Drake have a lot of records with Houston artists to this day? You did that with Atlanta. It’s 7, 8, 9, 15 artists you made songs with in Atlanta,” he said. “Why? Not only would the city of Atlanta look at you funny if you didn’t, but you knew it was beneficial for you to make music with (artists who are at a similar level to you).”

He also clarified that he was not lobbying to get a feature from the father of one. “Fuck me, I don’t care. It’s bigger than me. I don’t care if (he) does a song with me,” he said. “Travis Scott is still the only rapper that has a song with Drake. That makes sense because it’s an equal exchange. (…) When you use someone’s lineage and the culture of the city, you’re doing something that’s not helping yourself; you’re doing something that’s actually making the economy and the music of that city bigger and more awesome.”
