Caitlin Clark is sent to the court by a brutal body check from her WNBA rival Alyssa Thomas – and fans are angry because this is NOT considered an intentional foul

Not for the first time this season, Caitlin Clark had to put in brutal defensive work on Wednesday night in the WNBA.

Indiana Fever hosted the Connecticut Sun – in front of stars like Simone Biles and Gabby Thomas – and Clark broke records again in her rookie year.

However, things did not always go smoothly for the Fever phenomenon, as during the game she was hit by a violent body check and fell on the court.

The brutal move came from Connecticut center Alyssa Thomas and was ruled a simple foul, leaving fans fuming and wondering why it wasn’t called an intentional foul.

“That’s not basketball,” wrote one on X, with another adding, “Cheap shoulder strike.”

Clark has been the victim of blatant fouls twice this season – and both times it happened against the same opponent in the Chicago Sky.

The first was a check from Chennedy Carter and the second from Angel Reese – another rookie who became Clark’s great rival in his debut season.

Aside from the play that left her sprawled on the field in Indiana, it was a successful night for Clark and the rest of her Fever teammates.

Apart from the foul, it was a very successful evening for Clark, who is taking the league by storm

The first player selected in the draft broke the WNBA single-season record for most three-point shots, making her 86th three-point shot of the year in the first quarter.

The record was previously held by Rhyne Howard and set in 2022, but Clark continues to dominate the league in her first year with the Indiana Fever.

The Fever won the game 84-80 and are now in seventh place in the WNBA overall standings with a score of 15-16.
