Caltrans completes .5 million emergency slope repair project in Victorville – VVNG.com

VICTORVILLE, Calif. (VVNG.com) – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) announced that contractors are actively working in the city of Victorville west of Interstate 15 (I-15) and the Bear Valley Road intersection in San Bernardino County.

This $4.5 million project is critical to the region’s infrastructure.

The project includes rebuilding the slope, installing 12-foot-thick embankment paving, and constructing rock slope protection along one side of the canal for the duration of the development.

“Our dedicated crews are making significant progress installing critical erosion control measures in the earthen drainage channel. We expect to complete the work by November 2024,” Caltrans District 8 officials said.

Contractor teams will be on site to make emergency repairs and install necessary erosion control measures in the earthen drainage channel adjacent to the Dunia Plaza site on Bear Valley Road.

Daily operations are scheduled Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Please note that working hours may change due to weather conditions or lack of materials.

Motorists are urged to reduce their speed in the pylon zone, keep an eye on ongoing works along the route and exercise caution when traffic control measures are required.
