Casady School in Oklahoma City receives largest donation ever for new center

The Casady School in Oklahoma City has received a $12 million donation from Gay and Ed Kirby and their family – the largest donation in the school’s 77-year history – to build a $23 million Upper Division Dining and Engagement Center.

The Kirbys’ donation has generated additional pledges for nearly 95 percent of the total project, the Episcopal college preparatory school said.

The architect is ADG Blatt and the general contractor is Quad Construction. Work on the 2,800 square meter center is scheduled to begin in early 2025 after the final $2 million is raised.

The $23 million project campaign is separate from the comprehensive $35 million campaign that Casady just completed and will celebrate this fall.

Donors Gay and Ed Kirby say the Casady School has helped their family a lot

“Casady has had a tremendous impact on our family,” the Kirbys said in a statement. “Our daughter Laura received the Alumni Achievement Award in 2010 and her education at the Casady School was the foundation for her to become a successful entrepreneur in her life.”

Gay Kirby is a trustee of the school at 9500 N Pennsylvania Ave.

The center will be located east of the Chapel of St. Edward the Confessor, “which will represent a spectacular shift in the center of the campus experience for senior students to the spiritual epicenter of the school’s founding,” the school said.
