Check out the fast delivery from the Favor App auctioneer

Preacher needs speed

As if pickleball couldn’t get any more awesome—or, depending on your point of view, more disgusting—you now have an eloquent auctioneer as your doubles partner.

She is played by actress Mariana Alves, who is constantly promoting the Texas-based restaurant delivery app Favor, which has just expanded its offerings to include local food options.

Here is the obligatory mention of advertising rep John Moschitta. He perfected the advertising industry’s quick-fire approach and became a cultural phenomenon in the ’80s and ’90s. But he doesn’t appear in Favors’ commercials. So let’s move on.

Preacher developed the campaign with Art Class director Ryan Ebner, who also uses Alves in living room and playground scenarios.

If she keeps her mouth shut, I’ll order. Deal?

“With so many additional delivery options, we needed to create a character that could appropriately convey such an increase in inventory—with true Texas flair—while also making the item list compelling,” says Jacob Neuenswander, lead copywriter at Preacher.

“Enter our quick-witted Texan – inspired by modern-day auctioneers – who loves nothing more than surprising hungry people in everyday situations. Now we have this unforgettable character pontificating about avocado toast while shooting no-look winners over the net. And it’s just so much fun to watch.”

This is Preacher’s third outing with Favor, and all of his work falls into the category of “intentionally insane.”

The new stuff is kind of irritating, but catchy in a fun way. The world is awash with delivery services. It’s hard to get your foot in the door. Auctioneers haven’t been overused in ads, so this might grab viewers’ attention.

Lately, this silly style has become Preacher’s trademark in the hard seltzer, fintech and more sectors.
