Victor Osimhen is reportedly demanding that Chelsea change their salary structure to secure his signing.

The Nigerian international is demanding a salary from the Blues that would make him the highest-paid player in the Premier League – he is demanding around £500,000 a week.

According to The Sun, his potential move to Chelsea is on the cards. The London club have been negotiating with Napoli and Osimhen’s representatives throughout the summer, but so far no agreement has been reached.

Chelsea have tried to sign Osimhen on loan as they do not want to pay his €130 million release clause.

Napoli rejected that loan offer, but recently agreed a separate €44 million deal for Romelu Lukaku.

The 25-year-old wants to leave the Italian team after submitting a formal transfer request. Paris Saint-Germain have also expressed interest. He also plays outside of the first team at the Diego Maradona Stadium.

Chelsea is looking for alternatives

The club are also considering other striker options, with surprise candidates including wantaway attacker Federico Chiesa of Juventus and Dominic Calvert-Lewin of Everton. Both players will cost Chelsea cheaper options should their attempt to sign Osimhen fail.

Chelsea have already signed five attacking players this summer, despite Nicholas Jackson, but new manager Enzo Maresca remains determined to sign another striker.

Osimhen has been linked with a move away from Napoli for some time, but so far the club remains optimistic about his valuation.

Chelsea face Wolves later today after losing their opening Premier League game against Manchester City.
