Police trace stolen “Magic” cards to Cheyenne man

Police said they contacted a store employee, Zachary Bettey, who stated that one of the suspects involved in a burglary case, Adam Cole Ruhaak, had come back to the store to sell more “Magic” cards.

According to police, Bettey confirmed that Ruhaak was the same suspect who came to the store on August 3, 2024, to sell some of the other stolen “Magic” cards.

Police said they examined the cards and confirmed with the victim the description that they were very rare and specially made cards.

When police asked Ruhaak if he had been at the store on both days to sell some “Magic” cards, he answered yes and said he had received the cards from a relative who had died about two years ago.

After determining that the cards belonged to the victim, police handcuffed Ruhaak and took him to the Laramie County Detention Center for booking.

Cheyenne man charged with grand theft

Ruhaak was subsequently charged with grand theft, a crime punishable by up to ten years in prison, a fine of up to $10,000, or both.

Ruhaak made his first appearance in Laramie County District Court on August 6, 2024, where his bail was set at $5,000 cash and his preliminary hearing was scheduled for August 16, 2024 at 9:45 a.m.

Please remember that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
