Founded in 1989, Children’s Law Center, Inc. (CLC) is a nonprofit legal services center that protects the rights of children and youth to help them overcome barriers and transition to adulthood, better represent their needs, and successfully contribute to society. Through our holistic approach to individualized representation, CLC identifies factors that put our clients most at risk and that contribute to the legal problems that bring them to us. Many of our clients have experienced poverty, abuse and/or trauma in childhood, lack of stable family/community support, and unequal treatment based on race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or disability.
