Chipotle tests automation for bowls and salads
Chipotle is testing a new digital production line in hopes of freeing up employees’ time and increasing capacity for digital orders.
For two days only, Chipotle fans have the chance to use their knowledge of the popular Mexican restaurant chain to win free burritos for a year, as well as buy-two-get-two-free access codes for a regular menu entrée.
The trivia contest, which begins at 6:01 a.m. Pacific Time on Tuesday, August 20 and ends at 8:59 p.m. Pacific Time on Thursday, August 22, tests Chipotle Reward members’ knowledge of all things Chipotle, from ingredients to brand history.
“This is the fifth year we’ve tested our fans’ knowledge with Chipotle IQ,” Chief Brand Officer Chris Brandt said in a press release. “After four million playthroughs since the concept launched, we believe there’s an appetite for competition and free burritos. For anyone who wants to get a head start, here’s a hint: We use 48 avocados in every serving of our hand-smashed guacamole.”
The company says the game will ultimately give away over $1 million worth of BOGOS gifts and free burritos. Chipotle IQ is available to Chipotle Rewards members in the U.S. and Canada.
How to play Chipotle IQ
To play, go to chipotleiq.com. Visitors to the site will be prompted to sign up for Chipotle Rewards if they don’t already have an account.
The game includes multiple choice, true or false, and short answer questions. Fans can play Chipotle IQ once per day.
What can I win when playing Chipotle IQ?
Chipotle is offering 5,000 BOGO codes per hour to the first Chipotle Rewards members who score 10 out of 10 on Chipotle IQ. BOGO codes are valid as part of the buy two, get two free offer and can be redeemed toward an entree, including a burrito, a burrito bowl, and a single order of three tacos.
A perfect score unlocks a question with extra points, and if answered correctly, fans are entered into a drawing for 50 free burritos for a year.
