Chris Matthews says Kamala Harris has fully switched to John Wayne

Chris Matthews stated that Vice President Kamala Harris became John Wayne at a rally in Pennsylvania on Tuesday night, their first since the Minnesota governor’s announcement. Tim Walz (D) as her running mate.

Matthews joined a Good morning, Joe panel on Wednesday and was full of praise for the “dramatic” turnaround that Harris and the Democrats have made since President Joe Biden withdrew his candidacy for re-election just a few weeks ago.

“She commanded the entire room. Her confidence was boundless,” Matthews said, adding that the short duration of the campaign was an opportunity for Harris to “surpass” history and become the first black president.

Matthews had previously argued Good morning, Joe that Walz was the least known among the vice presidential finalists, but he praised Walz for his speech on Tuesday in which the Democratic governor said Donald Trump “knows nothing about service” and he recounted how he named his child Hope after he and his wife struggled to conceive and underwent artificial insemination, a procedure that has come under fire from some Republicans.

Matthews argued that Harris had proven with her Walz rally that she could appeal to red voters in swing states like Pennsylvania, saying the vice president exudes more of a right-wing John Wayne than a left-wing activist. Jane Fonda.

“I don’t know where it came from and where it was four weeks ago, but last night we saw leadership. Bob Casey, the former governor of Pennsylvania who won his election by a million votes, said Pennsylvania is a John Wayne state, not a Jane Fonda state,” he said. “Last night she was John Wayne! She was a leader. And she made it clear that she is the boss.”
