App status will not tolerate any ugly incident at College Football Training earlier this week. leaked video from the first half of fall training camp shows a Mountaineers player brutally hitting his teammate with his helmet after a heated exchange during an 11-on-11 game.

Any penalties resulting from this unfortunate incident will be dealt with internally.

The source of the video is unclear. The time of publication is unknown.

But somehow an internal video of the training made it out of the team’s premises. There is a mole in the locker room – be it a coach, a staff member or a player.

App State began fall camp on Aug. 2, and college football season video was less than a month away. This seven-second clip was filmed no later than Aug. 6 and surfaced on social media Tuesday night. It’s not good.

A pass rusher in a black jersey with the number 12 fought with an offensive lineman in a white jersey with the number 73. UPDATE: The numbers in the video seem not reflect the numbers on the list and the university is not willing to release the names, so their identities remain unknown.

Nevertheless, number 12 pushed number 73 into the backfield and came into contact with quarterback Joey Aguilar – who was wearing a red no-contact jersey – after he released the throw.

No. 73 tried to pull No. 12 away from the signalman by grabbing his shoulder. No. 12 lost control.

The defender grabbed the lineman’s helmet, ripped it off his head and violently slammed it backwards, hitting the offensive player, who was thrown back.

The violent exchange was very similar to the one Myles Garrett used his helmet to hit Mason Rudolph in 2019. Both incidents are unacceptable. App State maintains it will not tolerate such behavior.

This behavior is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated in the App State football program.

— Head Coach Shawn Clark

However, no further details were given about what action the Mountaineers might take. Fortunately, the helmet-wielding player in the video not Shawn Collins, a fifth-year redshirt junior, is expected to play a key role on defense this fall. That creates quite a dilemma!
