Carlton County Fair, opens at 8am, Carnival begins at 11 a.m. Music program: Two for the Road Band at 9:30 a.m., Tricia and the Toonies at 2 and 4, Jake Birdseye at 4. Outstanding Senior and Century Farm and Farm of the Year awards ceremony at noon. Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College demonstrations at 1 p.m. Kids’ pedal pull at 4:30 p.m. Admission $10 for most. Oval racing at 6 p.m. in the grandstand for most $10 additional. Reading festival at the end of summer, 1-3 p.m., Cloquet Public Library. Celebrate the end of the children’s summer reading program with crafts, a photo booth and more. All ages.

Burger Night5-7 p.m., Carlton VFW. The Carlton Area Lions Club is serving a burger and fries for $7 or a double burger for $10.

Fast Fest 2024, Encore Performing Arts Center, Cloquet. County Seat Theater Co. hosts a short play festival featuring theater workshops and live performances from around the state. There are three performances at 9 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Dinner available before the last group of performances. $50 for all day and dinner or $20 for one performance. Guided mushroom hike, 1:00 p.m.-3:30 p.m., Pine Valley Park, Cloquet. Join Ariel Bonkoski, a wild mushroom identification and gathering expert, on a guided hike to practice identifying in the field and hopefully find some finds to take home. Free community meal4-5 p.m., Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 515 Skyline Blvd., Cloquet. Taco bar, fruit and dessert will be served at an in-person meal for those in need, sponsored by Community of Hope 2:16. A light meal will also be available to take home.

Willow Brae performs10 a.m., Cloquet Public Library. Andrea Stern and Laura MacKenzie play traditional Irish and Scottish music and dance tunes on a variety of rare instruments while sharing some of the history and culture of Ireland and Scotland.

Grand opening of the Justice CenterNoon, 1780 Justice Center Drive, Carlton (off County Road 61 south of Minnesota Highway 210). The grand opening of the new Carlton County Justice Center will be held at noon. Public tours will be given at 2, 4, 6 and 8 p.m.
