Concentric establishes itself in the data center market with the CPS deal

Concentric, a provider of distributed power services, acquires Communications Power Solutions (CPS) to enter the lucrative space of fiber optic and data center power management and engineering.

Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.

CPS has established itself as a major player in the data center market and has been active in this market segment for over 30 years.

CPS President Dan Washburn will lead the merger, which will combine Concentric with CPS’s team of certified and highly skilled engineers and a robust technical design team with expertise in the design, installation and maintenance of DC systems.

Concentric said the acquisition increases its presence in the rapidly growing Southwest region and enhances its ability to solve its customers’ unique energy challenges at the interface between communications and data center infrastructure.

CPS also has a list of Tier 1 customers and is a certified contractor approved to perform installations and replacements for Verizon, Lumen and AT&T.

“Communications and data center infrastructure are increasingly merging,” said John Winter, CEO of Concentric. “With CPS, we are expanding our reach into the Southwest, fulfilling our promise to provide consistent service nationwide, and enhancing our DC capabilities in construction, installation and lifecycle maintenance.”
