According to the company’s 2023 annual report, the retailer earned $4.6 billion in membership fees from nearly 128 million members in 2023, up from $1.12 billion in fees in the last quarter.

These fees will soon increase.

Currently, a Costco membership costs $60, but starting September 1, Gold Star memberships in the U.S. and Canada will cost $65 and Executive Memberships will increase from $120 to $130, with the maximum annual 2% membership reward increasing from $1,000 to $1,250.

The increases are Costco’s first price increase since 2017.

Each Gold Star and Executive membership includes two membership cards. You can also get a digital membership card to use in the Costco app.
