This came just days after Malo, who announced his cancer diagnosis in late June, updated his fans following his second chemotherapy session.

“Happy birthday (Raul Malo),” wrote one person. “Happy birthday! I wish you health and happiness. God bless you!”

There were many more comments like this, which you can see here.

Malo, now 59 years old, informed his fans a few days ago about his last chemotherapy.

“First of all, thank you all for the encouraging words and kind messages I have received,” Malo wrote on the band’s Instagram page. “You all have made me feel stronger than ever despite my weakened state. The love and compassion I have received over the last month has not only been touching but overwhelming. I thank you and my family thanks you.”

Malo then talked about how he is doing during treatment.

“Round 2 is now history,” he wrote. “The doctors are happy with my progress. All blood work and health signs are pointing in the right direction. The only side effect this week has been an overwhelming feeling of wanting to lay down and do nothing. That’s almost impossible for me but I’m doing it…lol. Today, Saturday, I’m feeling really good and will probably walk my dogs, play a little guitar, etc.

“Thank you all,” he continued. “And remember to get checked out by your doctor. Don’t put it off any longer. Have a great weekend. See you soon… RM.”
