Crooked Man director says ‘Nobody wants to see a cheap copy of a 0 million Guillermo del Toro film’ as new looks hit the market

With so much anticipated content on the horizon, it’s easy to lose track of the big blockbusters coming soon. While we eagerly await Kraven the Hunter, Joker: Foil for Two, Venom: The Last Danceand others, another superhero film outside the MCU and DCU is set to hit theaters this year: Hellboy – The Cursed Man. Although it didn’t generate the same excitement as the previously mentioned films, it has built up a sizable fan base that is eagerly awaiting its release. Director Brian Taylor recently addressed the biggest question on fans’ and audiences’ minds.

For those who don’t know: Hellboy – The Cursed Man follows the unsuccessful year 2019 Hellboy film directed by Neil Marshall. A big question back then was how someone could top a franchise shaped by the legendary Guillermo del Toro and create a film that matched his vision and caliber. Brian Taylor now faces a similar challenge, and fans are excited to see if he can capture the essence that del Toro brought to the series. “I don’t think it’s a reboot or that we’re trying to start a new franchise – this isn’t content, it’s a film that has to stand on its own,” the filmmaker explained to ComicBook. “Nobody wants to see a cheap copy of a $100 million Guillermo del Toro movie. This is a return to the young Hellboy, where he was more of the plumber who solves your monster problem.”

Taylor added: “This wandering, sarcastic, soulful, smoking guy who stumbles upon supernatural hauntings and occurrences and helps out however he can. If Mike (Mignola) feels like he’s seeing his guy on screen for the first time, then I think we’ve nailed it.” It will indeed be exciting to see the new vibe that Taylor brings to Hellboy – The Cursed Man.

Hellboy: The Crooked Man – New Look

Jake Kesy is on everyone’s lips for his portrayal of the right hand of fate in Hellboy – The Cursed Man. We see him in all his glory in some stills that offer a new look at his version of the character. The black and white images are mesmerizing and offer a detailed, zoomed out look at the character. The cast is led by Jack Kesy as Hellboy, Jefferson White as Tom Ferrell and Adeline Rudolph as Bobbie Jo Song. We will also see Leah McNamara as Effie Kolb, Joseph Marcell as Reverend Watts, Hannah Margetson as Cora Fisher and Martin Bassindale as Crooked Man.
