Things to see

As is the case with most teams during preseason, some key players will miss the first game.

Dak Prescott, camp refuser CeeDee Lamb and many other stars will not compete.

This is an opportunity to see the Cowboys’ third quarterback, Trey Lance, in action.

The Cowboys traded a fourth-round pick to the San Francisco 49ers for Lance last August.

Mazi Smith, last year’s first-round pick, is expected to step up and show where he’s at after a disappointing rookie year.

Fans will also have the opportunity to watch linebacker DeMarvion Overshown return to the field after suffering a torn ACL following an outstanding training camp last August.

Rookie defensive end Marshawn Kneeland, offensive lineman Cooper Beebee and standout Caelen Carson, a rookie corner from Wake Forest, are also expected to see some action.
