DAN DONEGAN of DISTURBED should not use KIRK HAMMETT’s style with his phone

Disturbed guitarist Daniel Donegan is working on some riffs for the successor to the 2022 album Splitting… and obviously he has learned nothing from Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett.

In an interview with 99.7 The Flash, Donegan revealed that he has plenty of riffs for potential new Disturbed material stored on his phone. This worked great for Hammett back in 2015 when he lost his damn phone and all the riffs stored in it. So make sure you keep an eye on your phone, Dan!

“When we’re out here (on the street), we just have to change gear,” said Donegan. “Right now the focus is on touring, shows and production. I probably have a thousand riffs on my phone because I’m just recording the stuff in the moment. I’m not going to focus too much on it. I’m just going to put it in the vault.

“I’ll revisit it later – if I have a blank moment while I’m writing, I might look again to see if something comes to mind – but we often start by just improvising again and trying to capture something new in that moment. So I prefer to wait for that to happen first. And if I need to pick up a riff here or there, if something doesn’t fit together, then I have something to fall back on.”

And although a new record would be nice,th Anniversary tour would also be pretty awesome! According to Donegan in a recent interview with the Alwaysblack Podcasts, Disturbed I’m thinking about doing a tour like that.

“(No plans for a new album yet),” said Donegan. “We’re only talking about it vaguely. Right now, the whole of last year until now, it’s been all about tour mode. We’ve just been focused on the tour. But you know, we’re thinking about what we’re going to do.

“We have to think about big things, whether we have a 25th anniversary tour next year, and if we do a new album, will we record it this year or next year? So we have a lot of work to do. We have a lot to sort out and prioritize what we want to do first.”
