Daytona’s Daniel Dye becomes full-time NASCAR Xfinity driver | WNDB

Locally-raised NASCAR driver Daniel Dye will race full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series next season, his team announced over the weekend. Kaulig Racing will field Dye in the No. 10 Chevrolet, putting him one step away from the highest level of NASCAR racing.

At just 20 years old, Dye will be able to showcase his skills on a statistically significant sample size. So far in 2024, Dye has two top-ten finishes in seven races, a number he will certainly be looking to improve in 2025.

His campaign over two full seasons in the Camping World Truck Series has been notable but not exactly dominant. Dye only earned his first top-five finish a few races ago with a second-place finish in Nashville. Last year, he finished 18th in the season standings with just a single top-ten finish, having improved that position to 10th so far in the 2024 season.

Since Kaulig Racing debuted its No. 10 car in the Xfinity Series in 2018, the car’s occupants have been a who’s who of young NASCAR talent. Several drivers have won in the car, including Jeb Burton in 2021, AJ Allmendinger in 2019 and 2023, and Kyle Larson in 2023. The last three drivers to complete a full-time season in the No. 10 car (Ross Chastain, Jeb Burton, and Landon Cassill) all moved on to other spots after just one season.

Dye was born in DeLand and grew up racing in Daytona Beach. His father is on the board of the NASCAR Foundation, and he made his ARCA Menards Series debut at just 17 years old. He attended Father Lopez Catholic High School and has been racing full-time since 2022.
