Desk by Ladyada – RaaAWWwwwr PLEO Battery Repair « Adafruit Industries – Makers, Hackers, Artists, Designers and Engineers!

Last week we discovered the problem with our retro toy robot PLEO: the battery was too old/corroded to hold a charge. So we got some high capacity NiMH batteries from DigiKey.

They came in the mail this week and we discussed how to repackage the battery this morning – a few minor issues came up that we will address. Otherwise, it works perfectly! Perhaps it would be best to 3D print another battery case as we can charge one battery while the other is in use.

And at The Great Search: 12V US AC/DC adapter with 800mA output and 3.5mm external plug for PLEO and the selected part at DigiKey.
