Diablo IV‘S first major expansion, Vessel of Hateis just a few weeks away. The add-on brings new stories, quests, and the Spiritborn class on October 8. If you’ve been sleeping on it since its release last year, the RPG is on sale until September 2. But if you’re looking for something to do this weekend, you can actually try the game out for free over the next few days.

The Steam version from Diablo IV has a free trial until Tuesday, August 27. That’s four days to play through the RPG, fight your way through the procedurally generated dungeons, collect as much loot as possible, and get as close to the end of the game as possible so you can start Vessel of Hate when it comes out on October 8th. I’m sure if you’re dedicated enough you can finish the story campaign in that time, but either way you’ll be able to find out if Diablo IV is right up your alley. You still have a few days to buy the full game for the discounted price of $29.99 before the price goes back down to $49.99 on September 2nd.

If you decide to buy, Vessel of Hate will cost you an additional $39.99. The full Diablo IV Experience will cost you around $69.99 for the duration of this sale. Fortunately, both the game and a pre-order for the expansion are now bundled. So if you choose both, everything is conveniently included in one purchase.

Especially if you are subscribed Xbox Game Passyou already have access to Diablo IV. But if you want to own the game rather than tie it to a subscription, this is a pretty good way to get the full package for a good price. And given that there are seasonal events and likely future expansions, it’s probably worth paying for it once rather than tying it to a recurring expense.
