Dick’s Sporting Goods plans to build a 74,000-square-foot regional distribution center in Fort Worth, the wholesaler said Tuesday.
The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based chain said the project is expected to bring 300 full-time jobs to the area over the next decade. The next-generation facility will support Dick’s business in Texas and provide distribution capacity for more than 100 of its stores in multiple states, it said in a news release.
“We are very excited to announce our plans to build and open a distribution center in Fort Worth,” said Sean Whitehouse, Dick’s senior vice president of supply chain. “This facility will support the rapid growth of our company, including in the state of Texas, and will enable a more efficient and effective flow of product to athletes, whether they are shopping in-store or online. We also look forward to playing an active role in the Fort Worth community.”
The distribution center will be built on an 89.5-acre site at Risinger Road and Old Burleson Road in the Risinger/35 Logistics Park, a project of Hillwood. Hillwood will develop and build the project, which is located just off I-35W, about 9 miles south of downtown Fort Worth.
Construction of the facility is scheduled to begin in early fall and open in early 2026. Construction is expected to create more than 800 temporary jobs in the construction industry.
Kris Bjorson, Jamie Galati and Blake Rogers of JLL represented Dick’s Sporting Goods and Reid Goetz, Samuel Rhea and Jack Barkley represented Hillwood in the transaction.
The Fort Worth location complements Dick’s existing distribution network, which includes offices in Atlanta, Georgia; Conklin, New York; Goodyear, Arizona; Plainfield, Indiana; and Smithton, Pennsylvania.
