Drake appears in new preview of DJ Akademiks’ music video for “Supersoak”

Well, it looks like DJ Akademiks was quick to prove his claim that Drake is dropping a music video very soon. He also recently shared a sneak peek of the visuals for the unreleased (and leaked) music video for the Lil Yachty collaboration “Supersoak” on his livestream. The clip doesn’t really show much, just the 6ix God rocking his braids and dancing to the track with a friend. Regardless, it gives OVO and Concrete fans hope that the duo will officially drop this collaboration on streaming services after Yachty talked about leaking it to Kai Cenat because they couldn’t release the sample.

“It’s going to be good for both brands,” Mr. Hotspot, the artist Drake and Lil Yachty sampled on this cut, explained of his ultimatum that he’ll release the sample if they make a clean and kid-friendly version of their song. “I’m lucky enough to work with kids, so we just have to make it clean for them. We don’t need kids getting beat up for saying this or that, you know? It’s the kids that are really pushing these views. So if we make sure both verses are clean and we come clean, everyone will benefit.”

“I sent Kai a song to leak,” Lil Yachty had said of that Drake collaboration. “We couldn’t get the sample. So I just let Kai get rid of it. It’s everywhere. (Mr. Hotspot) kind of went down a Christian path. I don’t even think we made any money. He just said ‘no.’ It was crazy.” Perhaps this new music video means that the Another Late Night duo successfully worked something out with Mr. Hotspot to officially release the song, but we won’t know for sure until it drops.

Meanwhile, “Supersoak” also prompted Soulja Boy to criticize Drake for what he considered an offensive remark. “Drake, you up here talking about some SOD Super Soak,” he said on social media. “Boy, stop playing with me, boy. This better be a f***ing rant, n***a. You better take this sh*t easy, my boy. This is your first and only warning. This ain’t gonna be the best idea for you family.”
