Drake Bell would like to do another series with Josh Peck, his longtime collaborator on the Nickelodeon sitcom Drake & Josh. The former child stars have talked about it, Bell told The Patriot-News.
“I would love to,” says the actor, now 38. “But I didn’t want to do it when everyone else was rebooting the movies. If we’re going to do something, it has to be special. It has to be a blast and not just ‘oh, another reboot.'”
In the children’s series, which aired from 2004 to 2007, Bell and Peck played stepbrothers. Miranda Cosgrove also appeared as Megan, Bell’s younger sister.
“I don’t think I would do it if we were playing the characters from the show again or if our sister Meg was in it,” the actor clarified. “Because they’re our names, we can still play Drake and Josh, but I think it would be funnier if we were friends and did a different comedy. Something that’s a little bit more surprising, a little bit different. That would be more interesting.”
Earlier this year, Bell revealed that he had been abused by a dialogue coach as a teenager during his time at Nickelodeon.
