Drake bets 0,000 on Canada to beat Argentina in the Copa America semifinals

Famous Canadian Drake is apparently undeterred by his history of cursing sports teams and has placed a big bet on his country pulling off a surprise victory against Argentina on Tuesday.

Canada will face Argentina in the semi-finals of the Copa América and Jesse Marsch’s side will be looking to continue their thrilling run through the tournament with what would be by far their biggest win yet.

The odds are stacked against the Reds, giving adventurous – and rich – players the opportunity to make some serious money by pulling off an upset.

Enter Drake, who has proven to be an adventurous type of player, at least in his gaming habits, and is certainly rich.

The rap superstar has put his words into action when it comes to his country’s national team: he has placed a $300,000 bet that, if successful, could earn him $2.88 million.

Drake seemed to acknowledge that the odds were against him with his Instagram post, saying, “Messi could get that.”

The Toronto native has seen the teams he supports fail many times – whether through betting or simply jumping on the bandwagon. It’s happened so often that there’s a name for it: the Drake Curse.

Drake has been more successful recently, however. His Super Bowl bet on the Chiefs earned him a whopping $1.2 million this year.

The rapper has also made a foray into the world of soccer before, betting $1 million on Argentina to win the 2022 World Cup final. Excellent bet, right? Not quite.

The bet was on Argentina’s victory in regulation, This means that Drake was the loser after Messi and Co. won the trophy on penalties.
