Drake cashes in .3 million after betting on the Kansas City Chiefs to win the Super Bowl

Drake hit the jackpot and scored a stunning seven-figure windfall after betting big on the Kansas City Chiefs to win the Super Bowl.

The rapper is no stranger to the world of high-stakes sports betting and often backs up his words, especially in the adrenaline-fueled arena of the UFC.

Sunday’s Super Bowl was no exception, with Drake once again betting a whopping $1.15 million (£1.1 million).

When the Canadian hitmaker first announced his bet on Saturday, Drake said his decision was based solely on his trust in Taylor Swift and her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

Alongside a photo of his bet, he wrote on Instagram: “I can’t bet against the Swifts @stake.”

Shortly before Sunday’s match, the Grammy winner posted a screenshot of his bet and hinted at plans to give away part of his potential winnings – more than $2.3 million (£1.8 million) – at his concert at the Enterprise Center in St Louis, Missouri.

He wrote: “If I win, someone on the show tomorrow will be super blessed.”

In a thrilling overtime showdown at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, the Chiefs secured their second consecutive Super Bowl triumph and their third in just five years, dashing the hopes of the San Francisco 49ers in a nerve-wracking finale.

Drake then shared footage of his exuberant celebration at home.

“But got it. Got it!” he said in a video posted on Instagram.

This is the second year in a row that Drake has correctly predicted the Super Bowl winner. The year before, he had already secured a lucrative victory when the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles in a thrilling showdown in Arizona.

When the winner was decided, Swift joined Kelce on the field and hugged and kissed her boyfriend to celebrate the historic victory.

The pop superstar rushed from Japan, where she had performed at the Tokyo Dome as part of her Eras tour, to Las Vegas in time to be there for the game.

Despite the potential danger, Swift arrived at the stadium on time. She was joined in the stands by actress Blake Lively, rapper Ice Spice and her mother Andrea Swift.

During the game, the Shake It Off singer chatted with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, while Kelce’s mother Donna also sat in the box and his brother Jason opted for a Chiefs-themed overall.
