Drake follows Kanye West on Instagram after unexpected concert tribute

Drake and Kanye West never cease to amaze their fans. They’re two of the biggest rappers of all time. They’ve spoken openly about the impact they’ve had on each other’s careers. And they can’t seem to figure out if they’re friends or enemies. It seemed like there was no chance Drake and Kanye West would patch up their relationship in 2024. Then, seemingly out of nowhere, Drake started following the Chicago rapper on Instagram. No hype or fanfare, but the gestures were so notable that fans quickly took notice.

There were signs that something was afoot. Kanye West played a stunning set of over seventy songs in South Korea last week. The rapper played all of his classic hits, including “I Wonder.” Before performing “I Wonder,” however, West decided to dedicate the song to his former enemy. “This one’s for Drake,” he told an understandably confused crowd. Drake did not comment on the address, but he did include Kanye West in his ongoing “100 Gigs” project two days later. The 6 God released unreleased footage of himself talking about Kanye West after they performed at OVO Fest 2013.

In a very pointed interjection, Drake gushed about Kanye West to his team. “Yo, that was crazy! That’s real rap shit,” the Toronto rapper explained. “We don’t communicate enough and sometimes when we get on stage, it’s an emotional outburst.” Drake admitted to feeling a sense of competition with Kanye West, but he also acknowledged that he is a huge fan. “I’m the biggest Ye fan. Period,” he claimed. “Sometimes I feel like I can’t like it because I have to fight it. But tonight’s shit was almost therapeutic.” It really seems like both men are rethinking their relationship at the moment.

The concert greeting, footage, and Instagram following are a far cry from where Drake and West were just a few months ago. It’s worth noting that Kanye West was so anti-Drake that he decided to get involved in the Kendrick Lamar fight. He released a remix to “Like That” attacking Drizzy and his business dealings. In an accompanying interview, he expressed his excitement over “eliminating Drake.” Again, all of this happened in April. Maybe we’ll get some music from Drake and Kanye West after all.
