Drake is betting heavily on Israel Adesanya’s victory at UFC 305: “Always with Izzy”

“I guess you lose sometimes and you win sometimes, as long as the result is income.”

That’s probably the best way to describe Drake’s betting history when it comes to his support of former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya. Before his next fight, he’s once again betting on “The Last Stylebender.”

The popular rapper, who loves to bet on UFC fights, has never gambled against Adesanya, although this strategy has resulted in big losses for his bank account in the past. That won’t stop Drake from betting on Adesanya again as he prepares to face Dricus du Plessis in the main event of UFC 305 on Saturday.

The 37-year-old Canadian-born superstar revealed his latest bet after placing $450,000 on Adesanya to regain the 185-pound title in the main event in Perth, Australia. If Drake wins his bet, he will get $855,000 back in a fight that has essentially become a “tips game” with the bookies, just hours before Adesanya and du Plessis entered the Octagon.

Adesanya was considered a slight favorite before fight week, but those odds have changed several times in the lead-up to one of the most eagerly anticipated middleweight title fights in recent history.

Drake, of course, has a long history in sports betting – particularly in the UFC – and his failures often attract more attention than his successes. The well-known joke “The Drake Curse” plagues the athletes or teams he bets on.

In fact, a website was launched that lists Drake’s biggest wins and losses as a sports bettor. Among them is Adesanya suffering two losses as the favorite, despite the rapper placing money on him before the fight. His biggest financial setback came when he bet that Adesanya would defeat Alex Pereira at UFC 281, with the rapper losing over $1.59 million.

Overall, Drake is still in the black on Adesanya, with a narrow win of just over $15,000 after placing nearly $4 million in bets on him.

Will Drake hit the jackpot and increase his winning margin even further after his recent bet on Adesanya?
