Drake jokes he has ‘new parents’ after a couple asked if he was famous at an NBA game

Drake, a real rapper with a global reach of hundreds of millions, was treated like a regular guy at a recent NBA game, and the artist had a good laugh about it.

Champagne Papi joked about his “new parents” on Instagram on Wednesday night after a couple at the Rockets-Thunder game in Oklahoma City loudly asked if he was famous. The question was a real knee-slapper for Drake, who couldn’t help but document the humiliating moment with a selfie.

Drizzy was sitting in the front row as an NBA camera panned toward him and appeared to show him on the big screen. Drake was making faces for the cameras and appeared to be greeting someone on the court when out of the blue, the older gentleman next to him appeared and asked him, “Are you famous?”

Drake laughed heartily at this and seemed to really enjoy the moment, because then he ordered the camera to be pointed at his new friends, who seemed to take the whole thing in their stride.

Incidentally, Drake was in town to support OKC guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who comes from The Six. Gilgeous-Alexander gave Drake reason to celebrate after scoring a game-high 39 points.
