Drake or Kendrick Lamar? Stephen Curry bluntly chooses his side in the ongoing rap dispute

Even though the feud between Kendrick Lamar and Drake hasn’t been as heated as it once was recently, it’s still talked about. NBA player Stephen Curry recently expressed his support for Drake, a longtime friend, in an interview with GQ.

In his May release “Meet The Grahams,” Kendrick Lamar mentioned Curry by name, referring to the basketball player who accused Drake of pedophilia. In the song, Lamar chants, “Hey, Curry, keep the family away/ To anyone who embodies the love of the children: keep the family away.” “If you stand by him, they’ll stare at you too. Keep the family away.”

Still, Curry stands behind Drake. When asked if he wanted to comment on the controversy, Curry told GQ: “I’m a huge Drake fan. I’ve been for a long time. I think you know what it means for the rap industry to have that, but I still rock with Drake. Absolutely. Absolutely.”

Since March, the conflict between Lamar and Drake has intensified. Its proliferation in pop culture led to it being mentioned on Jeopardy and becoming a viral video game. The feud began in March when Lamar challenged J. Cole and attacked Drake in his verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s song “Like That.” After releasing a diss track of his own in response to Lamar, Cole later apologized.

Drake responded in April with “Push Ups,” which was a hit with Weekend, Lamar, Rick Ross and A$AP Rocky. In the months since, the dispute has escalated and has been expressed in several songs, such as “Meet the Grahams,” which consists of a series of verses aimed at Drake’s relatives and ends with the shocking claim that Drake is the father of a missing 11-year-old daughter.

Immediately afterward, Drake simply addressed the claim that he has an unclaimed daughter, writing on Instagram: “Can someone please find my hidden daughter and send her to me… these dudes are devastated.”

Although more events occurred over the next month, including the shooting of one of Drake’s security guards outside his Toronto home, Rolling Stone declared Lamar the winner of the feud in May. The rappers themselves are keeping the matter under wraps for now, but the feud has escalated and shows no signs of abating, with fans of both celebrities pitting themselves against each other on social media.
