Drake praises Chingy for the lyrics of “One Call Away”

Drake went back to 2003, and while listening to a classic by Chingy, something caught his eye about the St. Louis rapper’s anthem “One Call Away.”

The 6th God quoted verses from the jackpot Drake felt like he could relate to this, especially when it came to pushing harder when certain ladies were around to watch him play basketball, but it negatively affected his game.

“Nah Chingy, I was feeling like, why do I play better when people aren’t watching? You really hit the nail on the head with that one mischievous lyric,” he wrote.

Drizzy continued to salute Chingy. “And that face you said you were trying to dribble off the bar, we know you were an asshole at the ball game but your thing showed and you started doing too much of it, for real damn you’re a guy for that bar,” he wrote.

Chingy has yet to respond to Drake’s praise on social media. However, there has been much debate and confusion over what the OVO boss had to say, with some interpreting the flowers as a backhanded compliment or even an insult to Chingy. “Did Drake just insult Chingy or is he just kidding?” one person asked, adding a shrug emoji.

“One Call Away” landed on Chingys jackpot Album in 2003 and was released as a single in January 2004.

The Track Starz-produced hit reached number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and ultimately stayed on the charts for 20 weeks.
