Drake promises to “win game 2” in cryptic IG post

Drake seemed to hint that he will come back and win Game 2 with a cryptic post on his Instagram Finsta account on Sunday, sharing an iconic 2004 interview with Detroit Pistons star Rasheed Wallace in which he said just that. “Y’all put it on the front page, the back page, the middle of the page… we’re going to win Game 2,” Wallace says. He also shared an image from the 1986 film, A better future.

Fans on social media have understandably interpreted the posts as referring to the Toronto rapper’s feud with Kendrick Lamar, and have had mixed reactions to the move. One user on X (formerly Twitter) suggested Drake should get over it. “‘Love will kill you but pride will be the death of you and you and me and you…’ MF just hasn’t learned anything and can’t move on,” one fan wrote, referencing Lamar’s song “Pride.” Another fired back, “You new rap fans are different. ‘Move on…’ I don’t know why you thought a legacy fight would be a quick weekend fight and not a war that will drag on for the next few months/years. (fire emoji) Music will come from both camps. Let’s eat and enjoy the show.”

Drake and Kendrick Lamar had been feuding for months at this point, but since the release of “Not Like Us” in May, tempers have calmed down. Many hip-hop fans saw the diss track as the final blow in the dispute and declared Lamar the winner.
