Drake’s “100 GBS” reaches 2.01 million streams on its first day

Drake’s latest release, “100 GIGS,” has quickly garnered attention on streaming platforms, much to the delight of fans who were left clamoring for more music following a review of UMG on Instagram.

The new tracks, including “It’s Up” featuring Young Thug and 21 Savage, were received with enthusiasm. “It’s Up” proved to be the best new rap debut of the weekend alongside “Blue Green Red,” recording 2.01 million streams on Spotify in its first day.

However, the success of “100 GIGS” has also reignited a well-known rivalry among fans, particularly between Drake’s followers and Kendrick Lamar’s followers.

As expected, both sides took to social media, with some Drake fans dismissing the notion that his career was ever in danger, while others couldn’t resist cheering over the latest Spotify stats.

In addition to the music, Drake fans are also speculating about a possible dispute between the rapper and NBA star LeBron James.

After the U.S. men’s basketball team won the gold medal at the 2024 Olympics, Drake and his bodyguard Chubbs congratulated several players, including Steph Curry, Kevin Durant and Jayson Tatum – but conspicuously left out LeBron James.

This omission has fueled further speculation about tensions between the OVO camp and LeBron, although neither party has directly addressed the rumors.

Meanwhile, Kendrick Lamar continues to be commercially successful; his diss track “Not Like Us” is now the most streamed diss track of all time.

While the rivalry between Drake and Kendrick continues to be a hot topic, both artists seem to be focused on their individual careers and fans are eagerly awaiting their next moves.

As “100 GIGS” continues to amass numerous streams, it will be interesting to see how these new tracks fit into Drake’s discography and how the ongoing fan debates unfold.

At the moment, it is clear that both Drake and Kendrick Lamar have a firm place in the top league of the rap scene and each of them has a loyal following.
