Drake’s 100GB were withdrawn by UMG due to copyright disputes, including new songs with Latto and 21 Savage

Drake recently made headlines with the surprise release of “100 Gigs,” a massive release of unreleased footage and new collaborations with Latto and 21 Savage.

The excitement did not last long, however, as Universal Music Group (UMG) promptly filed a copyright strike against the rapper on August 9, which led to the removal of the three new songs from his official website.

The copyright strike was confirmed by Drake himself via his finsta account @plottttwistttttt, where he shared a screenshot of the notice from UMG.

The message stated that access to the content had been restricted due to reports from a third party, apparently Drake’s own label.

It remains unclear which specific song prompted UMG to take this action, but “It’s Up” attracted the most attention, featuring a notable verse by 21 Savage.

Drake’s relationship with UMG has been the subject of speculation, especially following reports of a huge deal he signed with the label in 2021.

The deal is expected to cover all aspects of his business, including recordings, publishing and merchandise.

Despite persistent rumors, neither Drake nor UMG have publicly commented on the details of their agreement.

Additionally, there were previous reports that UMG attempted to mediate in the ongoing dispute between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, but the label denied any involvement.
