Drake’s security guard was shot dead in a drive-by incident just days after Kendrick Lamar used a picture of his mansion as a cover

A security guard was injured in a drive-by shooting outside Drake’s Toronto mansion, just days after Kendrick Lamar used an image of the luxurious property as the cover for his new diss track against the rapper.

The shooting occurred at around 2 a.m. Eastern Time on Tuesday morning at the rapper’s luxurious Park Lane Circle residence in the popular Canadian neighborhood of Bridle Path.

Toronto police said the security guard was standing outside the gate of the property when he was shot by an unknown assailant.

One of the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle, according to information released by the Toronto Police Service on X.

The security guard, whose name was not released, suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was unconscious when officers arrived at the house, police said. He was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

It is not clear whether Drake was home at the time, but his team is said to be working with investigators.

The shooting came just days after his rival Lamar released Drake’s house in a diss track against him amid an ongoing feud between the two rappers. Lamar penned three similar diss songs about Drake in just 36 hours.

After the diss track was released, Lamar fans renamed parts of Drake’s neighborhood after Lamar on Google Maps.

On one pin, fans wrote “kendrickownsdrake,” while other nearby homes were renamed “CertifiedKidLover,” “Kendrick’s Pool,” and “ChildMOE-lester.”

The feud between the two stars began a month ago when Lamar attacked the Canadian rapper and J Cole in his song “First Person Shooter.”

Drake responded with a diss track in which he accused Lamar of domestic violence. Lamar, in turn, accused Drake of having a secret daughter.

In another song titled “Not Like Us,” the “Humble” rapper calls Drake a “certified pedophile” and makes several references to alleged interactions with younger women.

“Say, Drake, I hear you like ’em young,” Lamar begins, explaining that Drake would get in trouble because of his supposed interests. “You better never go to cell block one.”

Paul Krawczyk of the police Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force said the motive for the shooting at Drake’s home remains under investigation.
