Dricus Du Plessis shakes out salt as Drake loses 0,000 on a bet on Israel Adesanya and UFC 305

Drake’s “curse” continues as he lost another big bet today and Dricus Du Plessis won the fight! The rapper had bet a whopping $450,000 on the match and Israel Adesanya to reclaim his middleweight belt from the reigning champion. Unfortunately, Du Plessis is still on the throne and he even posted after his victory! Drake would have won $855,000 if “The Last Stylebender” had defeated Du Plessis. However, there was a submission loss and the entire Octagon went wild with excitement.

DDP decided to thank the famous rapper and posted on X: “Thank you again from the bottom of my heart @Drake” Adesanya was down in round 4 and then DDP unleashed his punches on his opponent. He secured the takedown and then finished the fight with a rear naked choke. Drake had shared an Instagram post that read: “Always with Izzy”, Before the tournament had even started, however, the plan backfired!

Even fans poked fun at Drake, saying the loss was due to his involvement in the bet. According to reports from media outlets like Happy Punch, Drake’s betting history now shows 17 wins and 189 losses! Unfortunately, he has lost 92% of the bets he has placed in his entire betting history. This is not the first time Drake has clearly lost when betting on Adesanya.

The Canadian rapper had bet on the Nigerian fighter during his fight against Alex Pereira. He reportedly bet almost $2,000,000 but it didn’t go as expected as Adesanya got knocked out in that fight. However, things looked good when he bet $400,000 on Adesanya and the latter knocked out Pereira in the rematch. Now it’s all back to square one and people who bet on Du Plessis are cheering. On the other hand, Du Plessis might attack Adesanya but he apparently apologized to his parents!

The duo did argue about who was the real African fighter but in the end, everything was golden. Although DDP won the fight, their animosity finally ended as both had a lot of respect for each other after the fight. He even gifted Adesanya a jacket backstage. He also went with his girlfriend Vasti Spiller to see “The Last Stylebender’s” parents. The champion hugged his opponent’s parents and even apologized to them for any offense he may have caused when he verbally abused their son. He even thanked them for “for the education of a warrior”, and showed the utmost respect.

Izzy’s parents accepted his apology and warmth with open arms and showed their love to DDP as well. Even Adesanya spoke to Du Plessis’ trainer in the same video. Now the place seems to be clear for the rematch between Sean Strickland and Du Plessis, as the latter is the reigning champion. However, Robert Whittaker is also in the mix and will face Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 308.
