Drivers often get stuck on Yuma’s famous “Famous Foothills Boulder.”

YUMA, AZ (AZFamily) – A notorious rock keeps knocking over cars in a busy Wendy’s parking lot in Yuma’s Fortuna Foothills.

The medium-sized boulder adorns the curb and is on everyone’s lips.

Numerous cars became stuck and dozens of images shared on Facebook showed drivers in a strange situation.

“I find it kind of ridiculous. To hit the rock you have to drive over the curb and keep going. I don’t know how that’s possible,” said Josuha, a Yuma resident.

It has become a popular tourist destination and even has a five-star rating on Google Maps.

“People came back from out of town and said they were here to see the national landmark,” said Anthony Delgado, a Wendy’s employee.

From careless drivers to people who want to grab a quick dollar Frosty, Delgado has seen it all.

“I’ve seen people’s radiators completely ripped off or knocked off. There were days when I came to work in the morning and there were vehicle parts on the ground that we had to clean up,” Delgado said.

Delgado said they now see drivers in large trucks and jeeps taking the rock as a challenge and trying to climb it.

He said the stone definitely brought in some new customers.

“Come on over, grab a Double Stack and a Frosty, take some pictures and enjoy it while it’s still there in case it gets thrown away,” Delgado said.
