Eagles fan favorite gives honest assessment of his time in Philadelphia

A former Philadelphia Eagles fan favorite has decided to hang up his football boots this offseason.

Former Eagles quarterback Nick Foles was selected in the third round of the 2012 National Football League Draft by Philadelphia and played twice for the team. Foles was selected to the Pro Bowl as a member of the Eagles and most notably helped the team to a Super Bowl victory over the New England Patriots in 2018’s Super Bowl LII.

Foles was named the Most Valuable Player of Super Bowl LII, contributing to the victory against the Tom Brady-led Patriots with nearly 400 passing yards, three touchdown passes, and an unforgettable touchdown reception.

He became a fan favorite during his time in Philadelphia and decided to end his career with the Eagles this summer. It sounds like he enjoyed his time in Philadelphia as much as the fans enjoyed him, according to a conversation between him and Chris Long on the podcast “Green Light with Chris Long.”

“That locker room in Philadelphia was the one that allowed you to play for so long because the brotherhood and everything that that city and that team is was so big,” Foles said. “Even when I look back on my career, I’m so thankful for the other teams I played for besides Philadelphia because they gave me the opportunity to play, they gave me the opportunity to be a part of their organization and their city, but when I look back on my career, Philadelphia was the only time I felt at home.”

It sounds like he enjoyed his time with the Eagles, and Philadelphia certainly enjoyed having him around.
