Early Fight Week Odds for the Du Plessis vs. Adesanya Fight Card

The UFC 305 fight card is upon us. The ESPN+ pay-per-view card takes place on Saturday, August 17, from the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia. The main event features UFC middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis taking on former 185-pound champion Israel Adesanya.

In the co-main event, current UFC flyweight title challenger Steve Erceg will face former interim 125-pound title challenger Kai Kara-France in a decisive flyweight bout.

Also on the main card, up-and-coming lightweight contender Mateusz Gamrot will face experienced UFC competitor Dan Hooker.

Adesanya (24-3) is the No. 2 fighter in the official UFC middleweight rankings. The former two-time UFC titleholder has not fought since his second reign with the UFC title at 185-pounds, which ended with a surprise points loss to Sean Strickland in September 2023.

Du Plessis (21-2) took the title from Strickland in January by a points victory. He has not fought since winning the title.

Erceg (12-2) is the No. 7 fighter in the UFC flyweight rankings. He lost to UFC 125-pound champion Alexandre Pantoja in May. Kara-France (24-11-0-1), who lost a fight with Brandon Moreno for the interim UFC flyweight belt in July 2022, is the No. 4 fighter in the division. Kara-France lost on points to Amir Albazi in June 2023.

No. 5-ranked featherweight Gamrot (24-2-0-1) has won three fights in a row. His most recent victory was a March win over former UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos. Hooker (23-12) is the No. 11 contender in the division. He has won two fights in a row, most recently defeating Jalin Turner by split decision in July 2023. Hooker has a record of 4-4 in his last eight fights.

The main card also features a fight between UFC heavyweights. No. 10 seed Tai Tuivasa (14-7) faces No. 12 seed Jairzinho Rozenstruik. Tuivasa has lost four straight fights, while Rozenstruik is 2-2 in his last four fights. Rozenstruik is coming off a TKO win over Shamil Gaziev in March.
