El Paso Animal Services offers free drive-thru vaccinations for pets

El Paso Animal Services gives pet owners the opportunity to get free vaccinations and microchipping for their four-legged friends without having to get out of their car.

On Sunday, EP Animal Services will host its third free Pet Wellness Clinic, offering vaccinations and microchipping to the first 500 pets who stop by.

The drive-thru clinic is open from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. and is located at 6500 Bonanza Street, near the airport in east El Paso.

In terms of restrictions or requirements, organizers said there is no limit on the number of pets per vehicle. However, pets must be on a leash or in a carrier, must be at least six weeks old, and both pets and their owners must remain in the vehicle at all times.

Organizers also said they would not offer rabies vaccinations and advised owners to bring water (both for themselves and their pets) and arrive on time as there could be long lines.

Julie Newbold, public affairs coordinator at EP Animal Services, said the event is critical to preventing widespread diseases and pet theft in the region.

This event is really important so that we can provide these essential services to the pets in the community so that they don’t contract the diseases endemic to our area and ensure that they can return home safely if they ever get lost or stolen.

The event is made possible by Petco Love, El Paso County Animal Control and, of course, El Paso Animal Services.
