Ellsworth Senior Center moves to new location

We are very pleased to announce that the Ellsworth Senior Center is relocating near the English Lutheran Church (229 W. Main St., Ellsworth).

Church representatives have been very warm and hospitable to us during our “move talks” and are as excited about this move as we are! We plan to serve you and all seniors from this new location starting the week of September 9th. Come see our larger, bright space with windows and a large parking lot!

Turn onto Piety Street from Main Street, drive a short distance, enter the church parking lot, turn right and follow the sign marked “Main Entrance” which will direct you to the parking lot between the building and Piety Street. Enter the building through the ground level double doors – no more ramp! See you at the new Ellsworth Senior Center location starting September 9th!

The Ellsworth Senior Center would like to invite all seniors ages 50 and older to the following events at the Senior Center:

Come and become part of the Pool Player every Monday and Friday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Euchre card players meet on Thursday, September 12th and Thursday, September 26th at 1:00pm. Beginners are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Festive senior citizens’ meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 28th at 1:30 p.m. at Summit Park (100 W. Grove St.). Cake and ice cream will be served, followed by White Elephant Bingo Day. All are welcome to Bring a wrapped white elephant as a prize. We will play with the snitch rule after all prizes have been won. In case of inclement weather, the meeting will be held at the Ellsworth Senior Center. Directions to Summit Park: From Highway 10/Main St., turn north onto Beulah Street (at Speedway), then right onto West Grove Street and we are located in the picnic pavilion.

Discovering together on Tuesday will be held on September 10th at 11am with professional organizer Valerie Cady. Have you always wanted to bring order to your home by decluttering or cleaning out, but aren’t sure where everything goes? Valerie will introduce us to the many resources in our area that focus on waste reduction. She will share tips and tricks to make the organizing process easier. Cady is the owner of Winnow & Spruce Organizing based in the St. Croix Valley. She approaches the organizing process with compassion, fun, and creative solutions! She believes that being more organized will change your life. A meal will be provided after the program, courtesy of the Ellsworth Senior Center and Friends of the Ellsworth Public Library.

Unless otherwise noted, all events take place at the Ellsworth Senior Center in the basement of the old Ellsworth Public Library (312 W. Main St). 6 September and then located at the English Lutheran Church (229 W. Main St.).
