Erling Haaland scored a hat-trick to help Manchester City to their second win of the 2024/25 season against Ipswich Town.
The Norwegian striker has already scored 23 hat tricks in his career, despite being only 24 years old.
With his hat-trick against the promoted team, he now equalled Wayne Rooney.

The 24-year-old’s hat-trick came from a penalty in the 12th minute, and in the 16th and 18th minutes. Kevin De Bruyne’s goal came between his first and second goals.

He has now scored 23 hat-tricks in his career, including seven in the Premier League, and is in his third season.
The former Borussia Dortmund striker has now equalled Rooney’s record of seven hat-tricks in the league.
The only other players who have more are Michael Owen (8), Harry Kane (8), Thierry Henry (8), Robbie Fowler (9), Alan Shearer (11) and Sergio Aguero (12).
“He is so reliable in penalty shootouts. Assist for the second, fantastic for the third. Last season he had a lot of problems, especially at the beginning. He was tired most of the time and had aches and pains. This time, since he hasn’t played in any European Championships, he has arrived in a good mood. The numbers are incredible,” Pep Guardiola told Mancity.com.

The outstanding striker said the Argentine had been a nuisance to him throughout the game and had trampled on him.
