Erling Haaland equals Wayne Rooney’s record after Man City’s hat-trick

Erling Haaland scored a hat-trick to help Manchester City to their second win of the 2024/25 season against Ipswich Town.

The Norwegian striker has already scored 23 hat tricks in his career, despite being only 24 years old.

With his hat-trick against the promoted team, he now equalled Wayne Rooney.

The only other players who have more are Michael Owen (8), Harry Kane (8), Thierry Henry (8), Robbie Fowler (9), Alan Shearer (11) and Sergio Aguero (12).
