CINCINNATI — ESPN’s Field Yates released his preseason NFL mock draft this week and sees Cincinnati entering with a wide receiver at No. 25 overall.
The Bengals have signed playmaker Emeka Egbuka from Ohio State.
“With Tee Higgins’ future in Cincinnati still uncertain, Egbuka would help offset a scenario where Higgins signs elsewhere as a free agent in 2025,” Yates wrote. “Egbuka is such a slick route runner and can dominate from the slot. What I find most impressive is how many crucial plays he made for Ohio State – he’s so reliable. A future WR trio of Ja’Marr Chase, Egbuka and the speedy Jermaine Burton would be pretty, pretty good for Cincy.”
A wide receiver would make a lot of sense in 2025, as Cincinnati is unlikely to keep Higgins long-term. However, stellar seasons from Andrei Iosivas, Charlie Jones or others could change minds next April.
