Following Saturday’s final game of the season against the Houston Texans, it was a busy few days for the Los Angeles Rams front office and coaching staff as they worked to get under the league’s 53-man limit on the regular-season roster by Tuesday’s deadline. They finally made it, but it took four injury reports, one transfer and more than 30 players missing.
Les Snead’s coaches and staff likely had to make some very difficult decisions and the roster will certainly change over the course of the next two weeks, but the Rams currently have their initial 53-man roster.
Here’s how they’ve done it with every change to the squad since Sunday.
Veteran cuts

Scott and Watkins were part of the first wave of release and immediately became free agents. Scott has already agreed to sign with the Steelers’ practice squad.

All of these players are subject to waivers and can be claimed by any team until noon ET Wednesday. The Rams can return any of them to the practice squad if they pass waivers.
PUP List

- TE Tyler Higbee
Higbee remained on the PUP list at the start of the regular season, meaning he will have to sit out at least the first four games of 2024, but he can be activated at any time after that.
Injury reserve

- OL KT Leveston (scheduled for return)
- DL Larrell Murchison (expected to return)
- CB Tre Tomlinson (out for the rest of the season)
Leveston and Murchison were both recalled from the IR list, a new NFL rule that allows up to two players to return from the IR list even if they did not originally make the 53-man roster. Tomlinson, on the other hand, will miss the entire season.
Trade
- Ernest Jones + 6th round pick 2026 to the Titans for 5th round pick 2026
The Rams agreed to trade Jones and a sixth-round pick in 2026 to the Titans for a fifth-round pick in 2026.
