Families were able to enjoy the Ocala Kidz Fest before the children go back to school

OCALA, Fla. (WCJB) – The World Equestrian Center in Ocala hosted its first ever “Kids Fest” this weekend. The “ultimate family fun expo” was packed with nonstop family fun. Kids enjoyed animal encounters, character meet-and-greets, arts and crafts, giveaways and more.

Organizer Jennifer Patterson says the event was a huge success and she plans to make it bigger and better next year.

“Given the crowds we’ve experienced, we’ll definitely bring it back, whether we do it before school starts or move it to another time of year. We’ll try to do some surveys of visitors to find out what people like best,” Patterson added.

Patterson is glad they were able to give the families and children one last beautiful day before returning to school.

“Seeing the smiling faces of the children and their parents and providing them with a safe and fun place is rewarding for everyone,” Patterson said.

Many children had a lot of fun with all the activities and also had the opportunity to demonstrate their dancing skills on stage.

It was a two-day event full of joy and excitement for all the children involved.

“It’s so much fun. My friend and I walked through the reptile world and it was so much fun. It was so cool that there were snakes and you could hold an alligator and there were sloths, it was so cool,” added visitor Athena Chung.

One last hurrah before the kids put on their backpacks and head off to school. You can also sign up as an exhibitor for next year’s event and contribute something to the “Kids’ Festival” that everyone will enjoy.
