“Family Ties” star and comedian Marc Price performs in Santa Rosa

Stand-up comedian Marc Price, best known for his role as “Skippy” Handelman in the 1980s television series “Family Ties,” will be back on stage in Santa Rosa on Saturday.

Price, who performed twice at Barrel Proof Lounge in 2023, is back due to popular demand, the downtown club said on its event page.

Price, 56, who often appears in comedy under the pseudonym Marc “Skippy” Price, told the Press Democrat last year that he was delighted with the recognition he was receiving for his role in “Family Ties.” The film ran from 1982 to 1989 and introduced America to actor Michael J. Fox as a young Republican with ex-hippie parents.

“It’s my chance to introduce myself to people,” Price said in June 2023. “So I’d rather take advantage of the opportunity than run away from it.”

The son of comedian Al Bernie and singer Joy Mann, Price worked in stand-up and show business before landing a spot on the NBC sitcom at the age of 14.

“It was wonderful to be part of something so great when I was young and slim,” he told the Press Democrat last year.

Price said that as a stand-up comedian, he does “a little bit of everything.”

“I get topical, silly, physical, sharp-tongued, stupid,” he told The Press Democrat last year. “With stand-up comedy, you can really do anything. I think people limit themselves unnecessarily.”

The 21+ show at the Barrel Proof Lounge begins at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.
