Fede Alvarez shares Alien: Romulus “trading cards”

Writer and director Fede Alvarez has uploaded the first pack of “trading cards” for Alien: Romulus to his social media accounts! These cards are modeled after the Topps trading card set for the original Alien, and show us for the first time what look like portraits of the cast from Alien: Romulus. Check them out below!

Fede has labeled this one as pack #1, so it’s safe to assume we’ll see the rest of the cast in this awesome retro style!

The Alien series has spawned many trading card sets over the decades since 1979, including the original set released by Topps in 1979, which the one above is based on. In 1992, Star Pics released a set of Alien 3 trading cards. InkWorks acquired the license in 1998 and released the Alien Legacy series based on all 4 films, as well as sets for Alien vs. Predator and Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem.

In 2016, Upper Deck began releasing Alien trading cards, starting with the Alien Anthology set, which featured original artwork from the first four Alien films. They later released more traditional screenshot cards for Alien (2017), Aliens (2018), and Alien 3 (2021). Want to see a full Alien: Romulus trading card set? Leave your comment below!
