First look at Lily James in the new film about the dating app Bumble

Lily James has given a first look at her upcoming film about the creation of the dating app Bumble.

“Swiped” is a biographical film about the life of Bumble CEO and founder Whitney Wolfe Herd, who plays James alongside Dan Stevens as her business partner.

The actress shared three stills from the film on her Instagram profile: one shows her in a yellow outfit giving a speech, another in a Bumble sweater looking at a piece of art on a wall, and a final one shows her sitting at a messy desk, lost in thought.

“#itsyourmove You heard it here first,” she wrote in the caption, next to a quote attributed to Herd: “Feminism is not about girl power. It’s about equal power.”

In addition to starring in the film, James is also a producer on the project, while Rachel Lee Goldenberg directs and co-writes the screenplay.

Herd, who also co-founded dating app Tinder, founded Bumble in 2014 and became the world’s youngest billionaire when the app went public. She stepped down as Bumble’s CEO last year.

Swiped is set to be released in the US on Disney’s own streaming service Hulu in 2025. Where it will be available in the UK has not yet been announced.

Meanwhile, James has been announced for a horror film called “Let the Evil Go West,” which marks a reunion with her “Pam & Tommy” co-star Sebastian Stan.

The project is about a railroad worker who “stumbles upon a fortune under extremely disturbing circumstances” and soon has “horrific visions and apparitions” that “drive him mad.”
