Glenn Howerton, star of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, has shown off his hair transformation for his upcoming film.
The actor, who plays Dennis Reynolds in the sitcom, wears a shorter hairstyle for his role as Jim Balsillie in BlackBerry.
In the film, which also stars Jay Baruchel, Howerton plays the CEO of the now-defunct company. The plot depicts the company’s steep rise and fall.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Howerton revealed that he shaved his head instead of wearing a bald cap, explaining that he often finds bald caps “distracting” when watching movies.
“We decided very early on that I would shave my head rather than wear a prosthetic or a bald cap because I didn’t think that would have looked as good,” he said. “I get really distracted by bad wigs and bad bald caps in films, so I wanted to avoid that as much as possible.”
“(The film is about) the interesting and fascinating ways in which they got to the top of the market,” he said of the project. “The BlackBerry (was) the most important phone in the world – it (was) such a desirable device.”
“And (it’s about) the hubris of thinking you’ve got it all figured out, and then something like the iPhone comes along and sweeps everything away before you know it.”

BlackBerry, directed by Matt Johnson, will have its world premiere at the Berlinale this month before premiering in the US at SXSW next month. It is currently scheduled for a US theatrical release on June 2.
“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” premiered in 2005 and has been running for 15 seasons. After the recent renewal, at least three more seasons are planned.
David Hornsby, who plays priest Matthew Mara in the series, recently hinted at a comeback for season 16, saying: “Look, I hope so. I mean, we have to. Last season was a farce, you know? There was zero cricket.”
blackberry will be released later in 2023. It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia airs in the US on FXX and FX on Hulu, while Netflix in the UK offers the first 14 seasons; season 15 will be released on February 1.
