FKA Twigs makes a statement with a handbag made of hair and a shaved head

FKA Twigs debuted a partially shaved head earlier this year and has since worn everything from elaborate veils to chic hoods on her head. Out and about in New York City last night, Twigs continued to rock her new hairstyle while holding onto a purse made of hair. Apparently, the jokes write themselves.

Twigs hosted an intimate listening party for her upcoming studio album, EUSEXUAin the Lower East Side neighborhood of Manhattan. The singer and actress sported an experimental look from head to toe, starting with a strapless burgundy corset top. From there, her black thong peeked out from under sheer panties and she slipped into a pair of towering square-toe heeled boots. The singer sported a geometric faux facial tattoo courtesy of her makeup artist Tilda Mace.

In her hand, the singer held a brown clutch with brunette hair on either side. Twigs has never followed conventional rules in her free time, but her hair-covered clutch is pretty crazy. Even by her standards. Ironically, Julia Fox – who was among the guests at Twigs’ listening party – wore a rubber dress and matching bag designed to imitate hair during Paris Fashion Week last year. Caroline Polachek has also tried her hand at synthetic hair as an unconventional fashion statement.

Fox, for her part, wore an avant-garde shirt dress with an integrated headpiece. She combined the piece with a brat-colored shoulder bag and white ballet shoes. Twigs and Fox were also accompanied at the event by Richie Shazam and UglyWorldWide.

Today, Twigs continued her experimental casual streak with a visit to SiriusXM Studios. Continuing her leather outfit from the night before, she wore faded red pants tucked into casual matching boots. She layered it up with a simple white top and sleek goggles. Instead of a hair bag, she used a green juice as a purse for the afternoon outing.

In addition to new music, Twigs is also preparing to appear alongside Bill Skarsgård in The crow. The fantasy film, which hits theaters this Friday, is based on the 1989 comic series of the same name by James O’Barr.
